The development of a new commemoration is initiated with the submission of a written proposal to the NCC. Important first steps in the approval process include validating the merit of the proposed subject, ensuring that there exists strong interest and support for the project, and assessing its financial viability. Your proposal should therefore outline the following details about the proposed commemoration:

  • background or history of the subject or person to be commemorated
  • the goals and objectives of the commemoration
  • a proposed schedule, including the expected unveiling date (e.g. Is there an important anniversary date to highlight?)
  • approximate budget and cost breakdown, including proof of funding or a fundraising strategy (all costs associated with this proposal must be paid by the donor or sponsoring agency)
  • project partners, sponsors or supporting agencies
  • general site requirements
  • site-use intentions, including the possibility of holding ceremonies or memorial events.

You are welcome to contact us and to submit your proposal by mail to:
